"The Descendants," which stars George Clooney as the father of two girls, won the Golden Globe Award for Best Motion Picture - Drama on Sunday, January 15.The movie, by director Alexander Payne, beat "Rampart," "The Help," "Hugo," "The Ides of March," "Moneyball" and "War Horse."
In "The Descendants," Clooney plays a Hawaii man named Matt King, who faces the challenge of raising his two young daughters after his wife is injured in a boating accident and slips into a coma. King has also just inherited a large chunk of land, while a shady relative, played by Beau Bridges, has his own ideas of what he should do with it.
